Traveling, Ski Mountaineering and Climbing in Colorado and…

A Bit of Skiing above the Mace Hut

Amos has seen and done quite a bit in his short 30 years of age. He has worked many different jobs, traveled to many different places, and had many experiences that you might think more likely of someone twice his age. But I have a feeling that if you ask Amos just where he would call home, it would still be the hut that his grandfather built at the base of Montezuma and Pearl Basins.

Our little trip into the woods included Molly Ritner, Dave Rasmussen, Hannah Dworkis, Kaylie Rozen, Amos Mace, Enso, Isis, and myself. Not a bad crew if you ask me. Everyone was up for adventuring and so we did.

After getting in late Saturday night and staying up late we didn’t exactly get going early on Sunday morning, but Kaylie and I did get out for a quick morning ski before breakfast.

It was a beautiful morning!

We rallied everyone after breakfast for a quick lap in the next yard over. The skiing didn’t disappoint.

We split up for our next lap of the day. Amos and Hannah went for a couple more in the backyard, while Molly sat this one out. Dave, Kaylie, and I headed up and around to the top of the Greg Mace peak couloirs. The snow didn’t disappoint.

Beautiful pics! As I sit here in Miami on a business trip. It’s warm so I can’t complain as I sit on the beach, with some java wathing the waves crash in.

Do you have any summer Moab pics? I miss it dearly right now. I love to mtb out there and want to see it!

    Thanks for the awsome site!
