Traveling, Ski Mountaineering and Climbing in Colorado and…

Aspen to Jackson and back to Aspen

“I am so stoked on being pumped!”

That pretty much sums up the mood for the last 3 days in Jackson.

I got the invite from Anton and Matt to head up and ski on Jacksons insane side country for 3 days. We left Aspen at 1 am on Sunday morning and pulled into the parking lot around 9 am. The tram line was huge with people anticipating the fresh 11 inches overnight. We hit up the gondola for a couple of inbounds laps.

The skiing wasn’t bad, but our curiosity got the better of us and out the gates we went…

I think we did one more inbounds run the rest of our time in Jackson. It was just too good out of the gates.

We spent the whole day today testing out different Folsom customs skis. I highly recommend you do the same. As far as I’m concerned they make some of the best skis on the market, and despite the price tag, I think they last longer than most skis on the market.

Aspen is going to feel small tomorrow. The terrain out here is big. And the consequences of a mess up are uninviting. My legs are crushed at the moment. But it’s puking in Aspen, so I suppose we will have to ski tomorrow too. These really are 1st world problems.

I took a couple of pictures…. Enjoy.

There truly is enough for everyone out here. Come get some.... Oh wait...no I meant to say Jackson sucks.

The snow was really fast and carve-able, which meant it wasn't over the head blower, but it sure was a lot of fun to ski on.
