Traveling, Ski Mountaineering and Climbing in Colorado and…

North Face of Chair

This might be one of the steeper things I have ever skied. It is exposed, steep, and intimidating, but I’ve been staring at it for years and I’m super stoked to have it under my belt. Mad props to Dav and Penn for pioneering this one.

After making the climb to the top no one is quite sure if we are going to ski it or not. Chason and Will offer a belay in to check the snow and I take it for sure. After getting in the snow…where it is white… is actually pretty good and I decide to ski it and after making my way through the choke and on to a billy goaty finish, I call up on the radio and it sounds like Colter is going to give it a go. He drops in and picks his way down the line.

Will and Chason decide to ski the ridge. They probably had better snow than us too, and we all regroup again in the basin below. I’m hoping this will be a good warm up for what Alaska has in store this spring.
