Traveling, Ski Mountaineering and Climbing in Colorado and…

Winter is Here

Yes it’s true. Many people have been skiing for weeks now, scraping down the WSOD at your local ski resort in the front Range, or finding the few spots that the snow has wind loaded into. But I think with what we have on the ground, and what we are supposed to get in the next couple days, It really is time to think about nothing but skiing. I sometimes think of the start of the season being launched by the CAIC Benefit Bash in Breckenridge, CO. It goes down tomorrow at the Riverwalk center. Hope to join you for a beer over that way.

That said, I’ve got a few days this fall under the old belt, I may need a stonegrinder sooner than later, but here are a couple shots from some skiing out on Richmond Ridge.

After skinning up the back side we dropped into the more Easterly windloaded terrain. Much better snow coverage over this way.

Anton is all smiles, out for the early season pow.

Kate is new to skiing, this just her second season, I'd say she will be showing all the dudes up in no time.

Anton is by far the raddest skier in this meadow.
