With little in the way of motivation for big objectives given our interesting snowpack, Chason Russel and I decided that Mace peak would be the perfect place to take the pooches for a quick little tour.
Aja (my dog) has grown accustomed to knowing that the rustling of goretex in the mornings usually means she is going to miss out on something for the day. So when I asked her if she wanted to go skiing as I pulled on my bibs she literally jumped at the opportunity. As most people who have taken the mutts out for a tour know, they tend to cover nearly double the distance as they run up and down and back and forth with excitement following their nose. And Aja is no exception, nor is Sawyer (Chason’s buddy). The best part about taking them is the happy looks on their faces that quickly turns into a satisfied nap that often lasts the rest of the day. They never seem to regret being tired though, and they are always ready to jump at that next opportunity.
